EMDR Therapy & Counseling Services
Welcome, I'm so glad you've taken that first step in deciding to see how therapy might help. Reaching out for therapy can be difficult. Many people reach a point in their lives where old habits of managing thoughts and feelings no longer work. We can feel stuck, confused, and overwhelmed by day-to-day difficulties, life transitions, or unexpected/unresolved trauma. I believe that we each have a unique set of strengths and resources to help us through the rough spots. At times, however, those strengths and resources can become undermined or overwhelmed by self-doubt, anger, sadness, or anxiety. Sometimes there just may be too many stressors at once, or you may not have the support you need in your life. In these moments, counseling is often helpful. With the right therapist, counseling provides a supportive relationship within a safe place to explore the old habits, thoughts, beliefs, and feelings that get in the way of tapping into your own strengths. Effective psychotherapy is not simply talking about your problems. It is about gaining insight, working towards solutions, fostering your strengths, and developing the coping skills you need to manage difficult emotions, relationships, and life circumstances. If you have any questions or would like to set up a consultation, I would be happy to talk with you. Best of luck on your journey!
